Growing food benefits us for a lifetime.
Support our learning.
Our story
We are learning to grow our own future.
With every seed we plant, we gain skills, confidence
and the ability to support ourselves and our families.
From limits to future
We are the kids from Masvingo, Zimbabwe. Some of us have lost parents. Many of us grow up in places where water is scarce and opportunities are limited. But now, we can learn something that stays with us for life.
From seed to success
In the greenhouse, we learn how to spread seeds. When the first seedlings appear, we’re delighted. Growth is a mystery, and we’re learning how to promote it.
Building future with every crop
We’re transplanting the young plants from the greenhouse into our garden. There, the crop will grow until harvest time. We’re learning how to care for our plants and how to increase our yield. That’s a good lesson learned.
Vegetables, fruit, work
In our greenhouse and gardens, we learn how to grow vegetables and fruit under challenging conditions. Step by step, we understand what our land can give, just how rich the soil can be - and how we can work with it.
Growing knowledge, harvesting hope
We return home equipped with practical gardening expertise, helping our families and neighbourhoods to become more self-sufficient. We grow food in places where there was very little before.
Looking ahead
Some of us may choose a future in horticulture. Others will use these skills in their communities. Either way, we are building something of our own.
Leave your footprint in our lives
Your support helps us to continue learning, growing and sharing knowledge. Your donation provides seeds, tools, training and guidance - but most important, it helps us build our own path forward.
Be part of our journey. Support our horticultural training and help us shape a future in which we can be self-sufficient.
